The Sally D. Francisco Gallery at Peters Valley School of Craft is excited to offer the following opportunities to artists.

"MEDIUMS REVEALED" SERIES
"Mediums Revealed" is an exciting exhibition-in-print series hosted by Peters Valley School of Craft, designed to spotlight the diverse creative possibilities within some its specialized studios. This series will showcase the unique works produced in Blacksmithing, Woodworking, and Fibers, reflecting the distinctive skills and artistry nurtured in each studio. By featuring a dedicated exhibition for these studios, Mediums Revealed aims to illustrate the depth and breadth of craftsmanship that each discipline offers. This series is not only highlights the exceptional talent of living artists, but gives inspiration to those looking to start their journey by taking a workshop at Peters Valley.

Volume 3: Wicked Wood

This exhibition celebrated the dynamic world of contemporary woodworking. Spanning finely crafted furniture, sculptural works, and experimental techniques, the featured pieces highlight the beauty, versatility, and expressive power of this timeless material. Together, these works embody craftsmanship, innovation, and bold personal vision, reflecting both traditional and unconventional approaches to working with wood.

The exhibition catalog features all accepted artworks along with a curatorial essay by Erika Hewston, Q&A insights with guest jurors Navva Milliken & Monica Hampton, and behind the scenes with the Gallery Director.

Volume 2: Bespoke Blacksmithing

This exhibition showcases works that push the boundaries of traditional blacksmithing while honoring its rich history. Blacksmiths, artisans, and metalworkers were invited to submit pieces that demonstrate skill, creativity, and a personal interpretation of the craft, whether through functional, sculptural, or experimental forms.

The exhibition catalog features all accepted artworks along with a curatorial poem by guest juror Sean Fitzsimmons, Q&A insights with guest juror Leslie Tharp, and behind the scenes with the Gallery Director.

Volume 1: Timeless Textiles

This exhibition invited artists to explore and showcase textiles that blend traditional techniques with contemporary approaches. The theme emphasizes the duality of fibers: the comforting, familiar textures of traditional textiles juxtaposed with groundbreaking innovations in textile art. Timeless Textiles seeks to highlight how age-old skills have adapted and evolved, revealing new and exciting dimensions within the world of textiles.
