A Weekend with Tommy Simpson
Saturday, October 22nd
Sunday, October 23rd
10:00am - 5:00pm
Peters Valley is excited to partner with The Furniture Society to present this special workshop event. In this weekend workshop Tommy Simpson and Abby Mechanic will be leading participants through an exploratory spoon carving workshop. Participants will be presented with a prompt by Tommy and will react via the spoon carving process. On every hour participants will swap spoons with a neighbor and will be challenged to make on the fly design decisions. Over the two day period all participants will have had a hand at helping to create a suite of spoons. This weekend will be a time to create community within the woodworking field and to reflect on the joys of making!
In-Person Worshops are Back!
We have extended our season!
We are excited to now offer workshops in the fall! We are adding new weekend and 5-day intensives in September, October and November. We will also be offering weekly workshops in our ceramics studio.
Peters Valley has always been dedicated to safety and now we'll be taking special precautions to be COVID-safe too. We have made it possible for you to come have a meaningful hands-on experience while still being safe. See our COVID-19 procedures for more information.
New virtual workshops are being scheduled also for those that cant join us in person.
50 Years in the Making
We are a vibrant community, bringing together established and emerging artists from around the globe since 1970. Coming together to make things makes us better artists, able to learn from each other, and to evaluate our own efforts in a wider context.
We provide studio-based educational workshops for life-long learners who have the opportunity to benefit from working with nationally and internationally-recognized artists.
Our Campus in the Delaware Water Gap
Our facilities, nestled amid the fields, forests and streams of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, were once the charming and leafy farm village of Bevans. Through adaptive reuse, these historic buildings now serve as a gathering place for a thriving community of artists and environmentalists, thinkers and changers of the world.
Come experience contemporary American crafts handmade by distinguished artists from the region and across the country at the Peters Valley Gallery.
Shop our selection of decorative and functional crafts and let our knowledgeable staff help you select the perfect gifts!
Face masks are optional, but encouraged for those who are immune compromised or feel more comfortable wearing them. Orders can also be placed online for shipping or curbside pick up.
