Facilities/Grounds Technician
The Facilities/Grounds Technician is responsible for the active maintenance, repair and improvement of the grounds and facilities of the Peters Valley School of Craft Campus and the set up and breakdown of special events such as the Annual Fine Craft Fair, Open House, Auction Dinner and other outreach events throughout the year. The position reports to the Director of Facilities and will work to implement a general maintenance program for the Peters Valley Facilities while working with volunteers and contractors in the process of fulfilling job duties. A clean driving record and valid driver’s license are conditions for employment. Skills required are; basic plumbing and electrical, carpentry, painting, small engine maintenance for equipment, winterizing skills, mowing, snow removal and grounds keeping. The position also requires the ability to lift heavy items up to 75 pounds, meet reporting requirements and the ability to prioritize work tasks. This position is full time year round and includes working on weekends from May-September including several additional weekends for special events and requires the skills and knowledge to perform emergency repairs when necessary.
