RETAIL & EXHIBITION GALLERY DIRECTOR
The Retail Store and Gallery Director has primary responsibility for managing Peters Valley’s Contemporary Craft retail, online and exhibition galleries and the promotion of these to promote appreciation for and sales of craft objects. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in craft and art and possess strong communications and people skills. Candidate must be technologically competent and have knowledge of Point of Sales Systems, building Website content, data management, display and installation, manage consigner relations and payments to artists, manage financial transactions and gallery staff. Working knowledge of photoshop, excel, Microsoft office and google platforms is a plus. This is a fulltime year-round, benefits-eligible position that reports to the Executive Director and also works with the Directors of Development and Education. Full Position Description
RETAIL & EXHIBITION GALLERY ASSOCIATE
The primary responsibilities of the position are to responsibly and enthusiastically assist with all aspects of producing and running the exhibition, retail and online gallery programs. Must be available to work weekends. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in craft and art and possess strong communications and people skills. Candidate must be technologically competent and have knowledge of Point of Sales Systems, building Website content, data management, display and installation, must possess great customer relation skills and enjoy working with the public and the Peters Valley team. Working knowledge of digital photography, photoshop, excel, Microsoft office and google platforms is a plus. Peters Valley School of Craft seeks a hospitality Intern from June-August to assist with coordination of our breakfast and lunch service during the workshop season. Candidate must be organized, articulate and friendly disposition and be eager to be part of an active creative community. This is a full time paid internship requiring work Friday- Tuesdays including weekends.
This is a full time seasonal salaried position available now through September 15, 2021. The work requires 40 hours per week including weekend availability as our food service is open from Thursday through Tuesdays. Applicant should possess: fabulous healthy cooking and organizational skills, knowledge of food ordering with ability to work with vendors to control costs and plan delicious, nutritious take-out menu options which address dietary restrictions such as gluten free and vegan options. We are looking for an energetic cook with food safety certification, the ability to work well with and supervise others in a small setting, strong customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills to maintain operate a successful dining operation that is compliant with federal and local food and public safety standards. Prior professional cooking experience is a must. *
KITCHEN ASSISTANT- FOOD PREP
This is a full-time hourly position available now through September 15, 2021. The work requires 35-40 hours per week including weekend availability as our food service is open from Thursday through Tuesdays. Applicant should possess food safe-serve certification, the ability to work well with others in a small setting and strong customer service skills. *
*Kitchen positions require the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, walk while carrying food items and equipment, lift items weighing up to thirty pounds, use fine small and large motor skills to prepare food and maintain kitchen equipment and facilities.
This position is full-time seasonal with the potential for year-round and includes working on weekends from May-September including several additional weekends for special events. Responsibilities include landscaping, grounds work & clean up as well as small repairs and routine maintenance of houses and craft studios. This position reports to the Director of Facilities.
