Working with natural pigments is a wonderful way to connect to your local landscape and the history of art-making. In this virtual workshop, you will be introduced to the natural colors of mineral earth pigments and botanical lake pigments. We’ll share a demonstration of pigment grinding and paint mixing utilizing a homemade soy binder. Participants following along at home can use their paints to create works on paper or fabric in a rich natural palette, which will be shared in our second session. A materials kit will be mailed to participants prior to the start of class and is included in the fee.
This class will be conducted live on Zoom. Participants will receive an email from Peters Valley at least 48 hours prior that includes a link and a password. Only registered participants will be admitted.
