This workshop will be a comprehensive introduction to the centuries-old process of floating paint onto a water-based bath, creating patterns in the paints with special tools, and permanently transferring the design onto paper and fabric. You will learn all the fundamentals of marbling, from mixing the bath, prepping the paper/fabric, and making your own tools, to learning traditional patterns and creating your own. You will take home your finished works to use for whatever you wish – book covers and endpapers, collages, jewelry, origami… Participants do not need any prior painting or other art-making experience… all you need is an interest in creating beautiful, decorative patterns using a fun and magical process.

Workshops run from 9:00am to 5:00pm each day
Lunch is included for all participants
