Students will learn about the exciting possibilities of clay, and the many ways that clay can be shaped, decorated and transformed. Through various projects they will transform their own unique ideas into a 3D reality while learning hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling, and constructing with slabs. We will explore decorative techniques to finish the pieces such as underglaze painting, carving, and stamping. Using the natural environment of the park as our inspiration, an assortment of projects will be completed by each student, fired in the electric kiln and available for pickup the following week.
