Carving & Shaping Natural Bowls and Cutting Boards

$440.00

Details Fee Breakdown:
Tuition: $375
Material Fee: $65

In this class, we will form a bowl out of organic branches or a segment of a tree limb. Our bowls’ design will stem from the natural shape of the limb and could include pieces of bark and other integral elements that denote their natural origin; our excavation will be informed by the contour and parameters of the original tree segment. The bowls could have a flat underside or be carried up by subtle legs that you will carve or form on a lathe. Another project we will offer is to craft a cutting board from live edge slabs of wood. Here you will learn how to surface the boards and then add a handle that could be formed using a band saw or a lathe.

Workshops run from 9:00am to 5:00pm each day
Lunch is included for all participants
