Details Fee Breakdown:
Tuition: $125

Monday, October 2, 2023 ~ 5:30pm-9:30pm

Open studio hours are being offered in the Blacksmith studio for students who already have a working knowledge of basic blacksmithing and the Peters Valley Blacksmithing facilities and safety procedures. This is a great opportunity for those who have taken a blacksmithing class here and wish to continue to explore blacksmithing on their own, but need access to the equipment. Staff will be available in the shop to guide participants to the proper tools and ensure safe practices are being followed. Open studio is not meant to be a workshop/class and participants are expected to be self-sufficient at the forge and follow all shop safety rules.

Participants are also expected to bring their own materials (excluding Galvanized or Painted Steel). If you do not have materials you are welcome to pay $15.00 towards access to the scrap bin with the discretion of the staff member on duty. If you have a larger project in mind and don’t  have the materials necessary please let us know and we will put you in touch with our Blacksmithing Fellow directly, so she can help guide you in the right direction.

Note: The $30 registration fee is waived for these sessions. When registering online choose the option to waive that fee.
