Ferne Williams Memorial Scholarship
One full scholarship including tuition and lodging for a college student to attend a fine metals workshop
Peters Valley is pleased to offer a tuition scholarship for one student, currently enrolled in a college program, to pursue a fine metals/jewelry workshop during the summer season. This scholarship is offered in honor of Ferne Williams, a lifetime member and longtime friend and student of Peters Valley. The recipient will receive free tuition for a workshop of their choice. The scholarship will also cover on-campus lodging in a single room. The recipient will be responsible for all other associated costs such as the studio/materials fee and meals if desired. Peters Valley offers this opportunity to one college student per year so that they may learn new skills or enhance existing ones in the field of fine metals and jewelry.
Scholarship recipients will be chosen by a panel of Peters Valley staff. The panel will review the applications and select those that reflect the strongest need and desire to further develop their skills and understanding of fine metals media. The panel will take into consideration the applicant's experience and the contents of the letter of intent. It is our hope that by taking a workshop at Peters Valley, the recipients will be inspired to develop their personal work and develop a life-long passion for craft.
