Talya Kantro 2021

Talya Kantro is an object maker and jeweler currently based in Providence, RI. She received her MFA in Jewelry + Metalsmithing from The Rhode Island School of Design in 2021, and her BFA in Metal from SUNY New Paltz in 2017. She has been working with metal for over 15 years. Talya has worked as a bench jeweler for Artemer Studio in Tel Aviv and has taught metalsmithing at numerous craft schools and institutions, including RISD as a graduate instructor, Snowfarm, Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft where she completed an 11-month residency, and Peters Valley School of Craft where she was the Fine Metals Artist Fellow in 2021 & 2022. When she’s not in the studio, you can probably find her roaming around the woods identifying all the different species of birds that she can.
