Heechan Kim is an object maker and an art/design educator. He applies traditional craft techniques in a new context to reimagine and explore visual possibilities and materiality.  Since COVID, he has been focusing on exploring woven seats as a sustainable design thinking process and creating a series of woven seats. He recently finished his artist residency at the Museum of Art and Design, New York and started an artist in residency program at Monira Foundation, Jersey City, NJ. He is currently teaching at Parsons the Newshool and City College of New York.
