Ella Desmond received an MFA in Printmaking from Pratt Institute in 2017, BFA in Printmaking from Louisiana State University in 2013. Desmond was an artist in residency at MoMAZoZo in Carrizozo, New Mexico in 2020 and at the Vermont Studio Center in 2019. Her interdisciplinary studio practice spans performance, poetry and a range of printmaking mediums such as relief, lithography, screen print and letterpress. Her relief practice currently focuses on color-reduction printing, asemic writing, chine collé and multi-block linocuts. Desmond has been a faculty member at the Parsons School of Design since 2019 where she teaches courses in printmaking and book arts. She is currently working on a series of prints exploring the intersection between tragedy, comedy, and the service industry. Desmond lives and works in Brooklyn and Newburgh, NY.
