Douglas Finkel has been a woodworking artist and teacher for over twenty-five years. His work can be found in numerous collections including the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Georgia Museum of Art, and the Center for Art in Wood. Doug has taught woodworking in middle school, high school, and as adjunct faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University. He has been a resident artist with the Windgate International Turning Exchange, organized by the Center for Art in Wood, and is a recipient of the Freeman Award for Teaching Excellence at St. Paul’s School, MD, where he currently teaches woodworking full-time.
