Angela Eastman

Angela Eastman is an artist and teacher from Hillsborough, North Carolina. She creates jewelry and sculptural work that combine fine metalwork with the language of weaving, and is also a basketmaker focusing on weaving utilitarian baskets from cultivated and wild-harvested natural materials. She is an advocate for craft education as a vital component of understanding the material world we live in. Angela holds an MFA in Sculpture from Cranbrook Academy of Art, completed the Core Fellowship program at Penland School of Crafts, and has participated in numerous residencies, including at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts (ME), the John C Campbell Folk School (NC), the Hambidge Center for Creative Arts (GA), MASS MoCA (MA), Vermont Studio Center (VT), the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild (NY), Sitka Center for Art and Ecology (OR), and SIM and Nes residencies in Iceland.
