The Printmaking Studio at Peters Valley
The Printmaking Studio at Peters Valley is located in the first two levels of the Greek Revival building, one of the jewels of the Peters Valley campus. This three story home, built in the 1800's is also home to the digital photography studio and used for most 2D workshops. This unique space is ideal for printmaking processes. Due to our location in the National Park and our commitment to the environment, only water-based inks can be used.
Equipped with two etching presses and general printing equipment; large glass topped inking surfaces, retractable clothes lines, brayers, rolling pins, soaking trays, terry cloth towels, spatulas, razor blades, dehumidifier, utility sink. Working in this studio can also be expanded to utilize the second floor as well where there is another etching press, pin up wall, two retractable clothes lines, a utility sink, AC, ceiling fans, natural light filled room, 3’x 5’ glass surface for inking, and room to expand onto the covered balcony.
The two floors in the Greek Revival building provides ample space to work. Equipped with tables and seating for eight, it includes the following:
- Two glass work tables
- Two etching presses
- Rolling pins
- Soaking trays
- Terry cloth towels
- Spatulas Razor blades
- Two retractable clothes lines
- Display wall (hemosote board)
- Two sinks
- Outdoor balcony with overhead roof
