Paper Marbling Workshop

October 2, 2021 at 9:00 am - October 3, 2021 at 5:00 pm

This workshop will be a comprehensive introduction to the centuries-old process of floating paint onto a water-based bath, creating patterns in the paints with special tools, and permanently transferring the design onto paper. You will learn all the fundamentals of marbling: from mixing the bath, prepping the paper, learning traditional patterns, and creating your own. You will take home your finished works to use for whatever you wish – book covers and endpapers, collages, jewelry, origami… Participants do not need any prior painting or other art-making experience; all you need is an interest in creating beautiful, decorative patterns using a pretty fun and magical process.
