Working with natural pigments is a wonderful way to connect to your local landscape and the history of art-making. Participants in this virtual workshop will be introduced to the natural colors of mineral earth pigments and botanical lake pigments. We’ll share a demonstration of pigment grinding and paint mixing utilizing a homemade soy binder. Participants following along at home can use their paints to create works on paper or fabric in a rich natural palette, which will be shared in our second session. A materials kit will be mailed prior to the start of class.
