Virtual Lecture with Dominique Ellis
Tuesday, March 22 ~ 7:00pm-8:00pm EST
Using a square packing box, a ceramic mug, and a Rubik’s cube, we will explore solid geometry to talk about pressure, volume, and suspension. A block is a unit of measure that is used in city planning, quilting, and as educational tools for children. The civic, creative, and pedagogical considerations have both collective and individual implications. What happens when you begin to repeat the block? With 7+ years of experience in shipping ceramics mugs, unfolding a box or block became a simple metaphor to understand complex concepts of physics, ecosystems, and climate change.
