This workshop will explore titanium and niobium, and how to use the surface treatment of anodizing as a finishing, graphic, and illustrative process to bring a vibrant range of color to the metal. You will also learn how to use a torch to create a similar effect. Participants will be taught the properties of reactive metals, their workability, and the potential design hurdles for creating an object with these materials. We will cover the anodizing process from pretreatment to post treatment, as well as bath set-up, handling, quality control, and safety. Expect to leave with a finished piece of colorful jewelry!
