Indigo Clay Blue, also called Maya blue, is inspired by the celestial blue decorating Mesoamerican sculpture. From the 9th through 16th century, this highly lightfast pigment was ingeniously produced from indigo. Join Natalie Stopka in a live online demonstration recreating Indigo Clay Blue, followed by Q+A. The semi-transparent warm blue is suitable for watercolor, crayon, pastel, tempera, and oil, making it a wonderful addition to the artist’s natural palette.
This demonstration will be conducted live on Zoom. Participants will receive an email from Peters Valley at least 48 hours prior that includes a link and a password. Only registered participants will be admitted.
