Watercolor paints are a surprisingly simple, non-toxic set of artist’s colors to make at home. Utilizing natural pigments and binders with historically-inspired tools, Natalie Stopka will demonstrate how to create your own paints for pans or tubes. While mulling her paint, Natalie will also mull over the ways in which evolving paint-making technologies have shaped craft through history. We’ll start with a homemade watercolor medium, discuss the plethora of pigments available today, and finish with Q+A.
This class will be conducted live on Zoom. Participants will receive an email from Peters Valley at least 48 hours prior that includes a link and a password. Only registered participants will be admitted.
