Come explore the fundamentals of woodworking while building your own Shaker-style hall table using traditional mortise and tenon joinery. We will take our boards through the entire milling process, from rough lumber to finished parts, while learning how to use common woodshop tools safely. We will cover lots of different machines and hand tools, but will focus mainly on getting comfortable with the jointer, planer, and tablesaw. This class is suitable for all and is aimed to be inclusive to anyone who wants to learn how furniture making is done. Whether you’ve never used a drill before or if you have some experience and want to learn new tricks, this course will have something for you. Everyone will leave the class with lots of new skills and a brand-new table!
