This is Peters Valley

Entering Peters Valley in the evening is a special treat with the welcoming lights of Randy Dalton's "Blue Greenhouse".

However, entering Peters Valley during daylight hours is equally as beautiful.

You begin at the corner where the Blue Greenhouse meets with the Main Offices

and the Peters Valley Store & Gallery.

The second floor of the store houses the Sally D. Francisco Art Gallery which hosts Art Exhibitions on a rotating basis throughout the year.

To the left of the store you will see "Greek" which houses one of the Photography Studios. "Greek" also serves as housing for visiting artists.

At the corner (on the other side of the Store & Gallery), note the stone Guest House.

Following Kuhn Road past the Store & Gallery, and "Greek" is yet another work/housing building called Lower Treible.

As you continue to navigate your way to the next stop, notice the beautiful counryside of the Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area.

If you're lucky you might come upon the Ceramics Studio (on the left) while a firing is going on... Perhaps the Anagama Kiln!

On the side road to Ceramics is yet another historical home for visiting artists and instructors to stay.

Continue on and pass the Weaving Studio ("Hilltop") on the right.

And just beyond we make a left on Thunder Mountain Road

A mile and a half into the forest you will find five more studios.

Special Topics,

the Woodworking Studio (which is also where the Water Gap Woodturners meet monthly),

Photography, Surface Fibers, and Fine Metals.

Let's not leave out some fine lawn art.

and land, lotsa' land... and lakes, and wild life.

Serene environments for artist to become inspirational.

Coming back to the corner where you began and turn right at the Blue Greenhouse. Moving down the hill, we find the historic Bevans Church and Graveyard on the left.

Continue down the road "a piece" and you will see Valleybrook (housing),

and the Blacksmith Studio.

Now turn around and go back up to the corner once more, but continue up the mountain (to the left) to our very scenic kitchen, where three meals are served a day (during workshop season).

Did we mention that the sun descends in the most glorious way, here at Peters Valley?
See you soon! |
