YOUTH ART ARTIST FELLOW

The Youth Art Artist Fellow is responsible for managing all studio operations such as ordering supplies, equipment maintenance, inventory and working with visiting instructors to be sure the studio is equipped and ready for workshops for children ages 7-17. Candidates must be available from July through August. Artist fellows receive free housing, meals when the Peters Valley dining Hall is open (5 days per week), and a stipend of $1,600 for the two months. The deadline to apply is March 15th. COOK

This is a full time seasonal salaried position that begins May 1st and runs through mid September of 2019. The work requires 40 hours per week including weekend availability as our food service is open from Thursday through Tuesdays. This is a fast paced dining hall serving adult students and instructors during the summer workshop season. The Dining hall serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at set times. Applicant should possess: fabulous healthy cooking and presentation skills, strong organizational skills, food safety certification, the ability to work well with others in a small setting, strong customer service and problem solving skills. Prior professional cooking experience is a must. We are looking for a talented cook who enjoys producing a variety of healthy foods to satisfy our discerning clientele who enjoy menus that offer everything from meat and potatoes, to vegetarian, vegan and gluten free meals.

 

DISHWASHER-FOOD PREP 
This is a part time hourly position that begins about May 1st and runs through September 16, 2019. The work requires 20-30 hours per week including weekend availability as our food service is open from Thursday through Tuesdays.  Applicant should possess the ability to work well with others in a small setting and strong customer service skills.
 

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of these jobs, the employee is regularly required to stand and work with their hands. The employee is required to use hands. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls and to talk fluently and to hear. The employee is frequently required to walk on natural terrain and carry items. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Specific vision required by this job is close vision. Climate control is very limited and the kitchen can be hot for sustained periods of time.

A great opportunity for established artists to a part of our Summer Workshop Program. Workshops range from 2 to 5 days in length and run mid-May through mid-September. New and exciting workshop subjects and instrutors are always being sought for both the Adult workshops and our Youth Art program. CRAFTSMEN AT WORK DEMONSTRATORS
