50TH ANNIVERSARY T-SHIRT CONTEST

Every year Peters Valley creates a t-shirt design. (Did you know that the first official Peters Valley t-shirt was designed in 1975?!) For 2020, we want to see what YOU, our creative community, can dream up. This year is special, Peters Valley is celebrating 50 years of existence. 50 years of providing opportunities for people from all paths in life to come together and experience fine craft. These experiences take place in many forms through our workshop programs, assistantships, residencies, exhibitions, as well as our annual craft fair. It’s a lot to sum up on one t-shirt! What do you think the t-shirt’s design should be? The winner will receive a FREE t-shirt and a $50 Gift Certificate to the Gallery. Deadline is August 19th. Click here for an application!

VISIT IMPERIAL MOROCCO

October 11-21, 2020

After a sold out departure this spring, we are delighted to be returning to Morocco in the fall of 2020. We’ll visit the medieval city of Fez, the imperial city of Meknes, the artisan centers of Sefrou and the High Atlas Mountains and end in iconic Marrakesh.  We’ll travel though gorgeous rural landscapes and thriving old cities, meeting with local craftsmen and learning about their work first hand, with lectures and hands-on demonstrations. We’ve chosen beautiful one-of-a-kind boutique hotel properties (with limited space so early reservations are essential).  Please email Peters Valley board member Teresa Stack (teresa.stack @ gmail.com) or call her at 347-461-8524 for more information.

EXPLORE THE ARTS & CRAFTS OF JAPAN!

(This trip has been postponed, a new date will be posted soon!)

Due to popluar demand,we have scheduled two trips! Traditional crafts have played an important role in making the culture of the Japanese distinctly its own. It can indeed be said that traditional crafts are the heart and soul of the Japanese culture. A country that spent much of its history in isolation, Japan claims unique arts and crafts traditions that have been handed down from generation to generation. On this amazing trip you will explore museums, meet master artisans and visit many artist workshops throughout Tokyo, Kanazawa and Kyoto. Please email Peters Valley board member Teresa Stack (teresa.stack @ gmail.com) or call her at 347-461-8524 for more information.  Space is very limited and this trip is sure to sell out, so please reserve early!
