2010 Peters Valley Craft Fair Jurors
John Irving Russell has worked within the arts & crafts industry for more than thirty years. He recently retired from being the Executive Director of Brookfield Craft Center in Connecticut for more than twenty-eight years. He is currently working as a consultant specializing is helping nonprofit organizations fulfill their missions to serve people. He also worked for the Worcester Center for Crafts in Massachusetts where he was Education Director, Gallery Director and Interim Executive Director. Throughout his long career as an arts administrator he also consulted for numerous state and federal agencies, museums and artist-based organizations. He is a studio-trained artist holding a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from Syracuse University. He has extensive experience in marketing, communications, gallery sales, studio arts education and photography & videography. He lives and works in Roxbury, Connecticut.
Judith T. Russell has worked within the arts & crafts industry for nearly three decades. She was the Director of Brookfield Craft Center’s exhibition gallery and retail sales programs for more than twenty-five years where she was responsible for inventory selection, display design and customer and artist service protocols. She created and curated numerous group and theme shows and developed and managed BCC’s highly successful and long-running Annual Holiday Exhibition & Sale. She also worked for the retail shop at the Worcester (MA) Center for Crafts. She studied at Brandeis University and holds a BA degree in Psychology from Brown University. After recently retiring from BCC she is working as a tutor for Literacy Volunteers. She lives and works in Roxbury, CT.
